  • At Pen Prep, we don’t use a traditional grading system in our Elementary Division. Instead, we maintain portfolios of student work and anecdotal records to evaluate student progress. We complete quarterly progress reports to evaluate student progress.

Our Middle Division uses a variety of formats to evaluate student progress. Middle Division students will receive report cards.

Standardized tests will be taken twice a year in grades 3-8 to provide objective benchmarks and measure student progress against a broader population. This data helps our teachers identify specific areas where the curriculum may need to be adjusted to meet a class or individual’s need, ensuring students are meeting essential academic standards while still receiving a tailored education.
