Peninsular Prep’s History
Peninsular Prep’s mission, vision, and values stay true to its roots: the desire to grow in our students a lifelong love of learning.
When the COVID-19 pandemic forced schools online, founder Angela Kral saw her own daughter struggling with the impersonal, worksheet-based approach to virtual learning. As an educator and school administrator, she realized this wasn't the right path and began creating her own engaging lessons. Her daughter not only caught up, but began to love learning and excel academically.
This success inspired Angela to open her home to a small group of friends, creating a learning pod where children could grow in a supportive, creative environment. The results were undeniable—the students flourished. Angela knew that this was how children were meant to learn, and it was something that needed to be shared.
That small learning pod evolved into South Tampa Microschool, and with the addition of the Middle Division, we became Peninsular Prep. Today, our school remains dedicated to maintaining the close-knit community and hands-on approach that started it all.
